FAQs Frequently Asked Questions
Q. What makes you different from other photographers?
A. It’s true. Many professional photographers offer beautiful images, so the real difference comes down to who’s behind the camera. I like to think of myself as relaxed, friendly, and caring, always mindful that you’re trusting me to capture one of the most important days of your life. I know how much you want your day to feel perfect, so my goal is to help ease your stresses, keep you relaxed, and let you fully enjoy the moment. Whether your wedding is wildly unique and fun or timeless and elegant, I love being part of it, because honestly, who doesn’t love a good wedding? Couples often describe me as organised, punctual, and efficient, but also flexible enough to go with the flow. My consistent 5-star reviews reflect that balance, and I’d be honoured to bring the same care and energy to your day.
Q. What is your style of photography?
A. My style is a balanced blend of candid/documentary photography and timeless, classic portraits. Candid images beautifully capture the real, unscripted moments, the laughter, the glances, the emotions you’ll want to relive forever. At the same time, I never overlook the importance of formal photographs, which become cherished keepsakes for generations. Every wedding is unique, and I’ll work closely with you to understand your vision so I can capture your day exactly as you imagined.
Q. What kind of lighting do you use?
A. I love working with natural light whenever possible. It creates soft, flattering, and beautifully authentic images. My cameras are designed to handle low-light situations, so even in dim settings I can capture stunning shots without needing to rely heavily on flash. That said, I’ll occasionally use flash when it enhances the photo, such as during indoor preparations, the first dance, or evening celebrations, always making sure the lighting feels natural and never harsh.
Q. Do you use filters or edit the final photos?
A. I don’t use filters or Presets. My high-quality lenses do the work, and I’d never want to compromise sharpness or clarity with unnecessary glass. Any creative effects can be achieved in post-editing, but my preference is always for a timeless, classic finish. I’ll make subtle adjustments to exposure, contrast, and shadows to bring out the best in each photo, while keeping the natural look and colours you so carefully chose for your day. After all, you’ve put thought into your palette. Why would you want it desaturated? (Remember avocado bathrooms? Stylish once, not so much now!) I also take pride in polishing the final images by removing small distractions, things like litter, marks on clothing or a speck of lint on a suit. I never charge extra for this, it’s simply part of delivering photographs you’ll treasure forever.
Q. Are you willing to do an engagement shoot?
A. Absolutely! I love engagement shoots because they give us a chance to meet, work together, and build a natural rapport before the wedding day. It also allows you to get comfortable in front of the camera and see how I work. I offer this free of charge, with around 10 beautifully edited photographs included. It’s also the perfect opportunity to explore different editing styles, so you can decide what feels right for your wedding images.
Q. Are you willing to do a site visit to the venue before the wedding day?
A. Yes, I always visit the venue ahead of the wedding. This helps me plan the best locations for memorable shots and get a feel for the space and lighting. Whenever possible, I like to do this with the couple. It’s a relaxed way to walk through the venue together, talk about the flow of the day, and discuss any specific shots you’d love to capture. I also try to visit at a similar time of year and time of day to your wedding, so I can see exactly how the natural light will look. It’s all part of making sure everything runs smoothly and you feel confident and stress-free on the big day.

Q. How long will you be working on the day?
A. That depends on the package you choose, and I’ll always tailor my coverage to suit your day.
Classic – perfect for couples who want simple coverage of the ceremony and group shots.
Signature – a half-day package, either starting with bridal party preparations or covering from the ceremony through to the evening celebrations.
Ultimate – full-day coverage, from morning preparations right through to the cake cutting, first dance, and some guest dancing. Whichever package you choose, my approach is the same: I’ll be there when you need me, making sure your day is captured beautifully and without stress.
Q. Is there an extra charge for extra hours?
A. I love a good wedding, so I’m never in a rush to pack up my camera! My packages are tailored to your day as we agree in advance, and I’ll happily keep capturing moments without you worrying about hidden fees or unexpected charges.
Q. Do you require a meal to be provided on the day?
A. I don’t make this a requirement in my contract. While some photographers do request a meal, I prefer to leave it entirely to your discretion. I completely understand that every meal at a wedding is special and could be shared with a guest, so if you’d like to provide one, that’s wonderful—but if not, I’ll make my own arrangements without any fuss.
Q. Will you have a second shooter on the day?
A. My standard packages include me as your photographer. However, if you’d like additional coverage such as capturing different angles, simultaneous moments (like both partners getting ready), or a larger guest list, I can arrange a trusted second photographer for an additional cost. We can discuss whether this would add value for your day and tailor the coverage to suit your needs.
Q. Do you require a shot list?
A. No, I don’t require a formal shot list. I’ve tried them in the past, but they can feel a bit like herding cats! During our planning meetings, we’ll discuss the must-have photos and key people you want captured. On the day, I find it’s much easier and more natural to guide the group and call out “who’s next,” ensuring everyone gets a relaxed, happy shot.
Q. How will we receive the photographs?
A. On the wedding day, I typically capture around 3,000 photos. Many are duplicates or multiple exposures to ensure no moment is missed. After careful editing, you’ll receive approximately 500 to 600 final images in a password-protected online album you can easily share with friends and family. These will also be delivered on a memory stick in an ornate gift box. Both the USB and online album are included in all packages. If you’d like a beautifully printed hardback photo album, I can provide this at an additional cost.
Q. Who has the rights to the photographs?
A. You have full rights to the photographs. You’re free to print, share, or make copies as you wish. Unlike some photographers who charge for additional downloads, I don’t follow that model. Once the images are delivered, you retain complete ownership. The only exception is that I may ask to include some of the photos in my portfolio, with your permission, to showcase my work to future clients.
Q. What is your process for backing up photographs?
A. I take backing up your photos very seriously. My camera is equipped with dual memory cards, so every shot is saved twice as it’s taken. During the wedding breakfast, I begin transferring images to a memory drive to ensure early backups. At the end of the evening, all remaining images are uploaded and secured. That night, the photos are backed up to a separate, standalone memory bank for additional security. The final edited images are stored long-term on a separate drive for 12 months, giving you peace of mind in case of accidental loss or USB issues.
Q. We would like to book you. What do we do next?
A. That's super, and I won't let you down. The next step will be for us to have a phone call to break the ice, and to arrange a chat over a coffee to get to know each other. We can also have fun with the camera with a free couples shoot to begin building a relationship. I ask for 20% deposit upon booking, which I confirm by way of a contract. We will then meet and stay in touch on the journey and plan towards your special day. Either use the contact form, call me text me on 07788634114, or email me at [email protected]
